Student version upgrades???

I recently bought a one year license to the student version of Revit Series 7. Are student licenses eligible for upgrades during their license period? I'd like to upgrade to Revit 8, but since I'm just a few months into my 1 year license, can't justify throwing it away and re-buying the latest version.

I've searched Autodesk's website high and low and can't find any info on this....
