Just tried an export & loaded a ifc viewer from here. (http://iai-forum.teknologisk.dk/13885)

This is going to be interesting to fool with. Seems to be a lot of ifc software popping up.

CADWire site seems to be down. I've been following IFC development in my research for a while now. What software have you seen so far?

I don't know anything about IFC or what it can do for me

Do a google search & quite a bit of stuff comes up, mostly developemental.

I'm not sure what to do with it, but it is interesting that the program knows what is a wall, window, door, etc. I don't think there are a lot of programs that can export this kind of intelligent model. Imagine trying to do this with Sketchup.

I'm going to try the IFC2IDF translator that comes with Energyplus soon. I'll let you know how I go. It should allow us to bypass the limitations of gbXML and GBS.

Does IFC mean that can import and Archicad model into Revit for further development? that would be fantastic some of my clients use Archicad and they were trying to force to use Archicad to develop their SD done in Archicad, I am wrong about IFC? i would be able to do that?

Not at this point as far as I can see. Only export.

Hopefully that'll be the next step.
