View Full Version : Locking DWG to Ref Plane
Can a dwg drawing be locked to a ref plane? If so how?

When importing or linking a dwg file, if current view only is checked, the file will be located at the current level of the view. If current view only is unchecked, there will be a " place at level" drop down menu available in the lower right of the dialogue box.
The dwg file is associated with the level on which it is placed. It can be locked in position on this level, using the " pin" tool.
Thanks Beegee!!!
What I was hoping for was away to lock an AutoCad Detail to a family to a ref plane (i.e. window jamb to a family) so 90% of the detail would be complete upon insertion.

We just converted the dwg details to revit detail components.
Thank You Mr Spot!
Why didn't think of that... I love Revit & this forum. Being a Lone Ranger, it sure helps to have a group like this!!!
Thanks to everyone... it all helps!
