I just stumbled on this feature while perusing the new features in 8, but now see that it seems to have arrived in 7!

I'm truly impressed. This will be a great feature for us. We get countless calls to give prospective students the "dimensions" of their dorm room. And the fact that the report comes out as a htm file will make life even easier.

The report also gives the total window area in each room, but no info in help or at the end of the file as to how that area is calculated.

Anyone know?

I might guess... just width x height, the system variables that cannot be changed... sum of all the windows. Otherwise, there is a slight chance that it looks at the physical opening size.

It works on the clear opening size.

For a window having a rough opening of 1000 mm high x 1000 mm wide (- a clear opening of 950 mm wide x 940 mm high ) the report returns a window area of 0.89 m². not 1.0 m².
