When using continuous footings wit different widths at intersecting walls, the join of the intersecting footings is very poor. I tried the JOIN tool to cleanup the intersection but it does not help.

Is there a solution to this or is it something that is being worked on?

There are other threads somewhere...on this

the general consensus is that there is still a preference to use a wall type or a floor slap to do footings..

my preference is a stem that is a conc or masonry wall type that creates a second wall below the wall, and a third wall that is below that for the poured footing.
This is one of the few places I then use the constraints to lock the assemblage of walls together. I prefer this over the stacked wall, though will admit I probably have not given the stacked wall a fair shake - mostly because the above system works ok.
