Windows won't show in view above

I cannot get any lines to show up in my 2nd floor framing plan. I just want to see the edges of the window, and would like to see a sybolic line representing a header. I have tried inserting new symbolic and model lines, setting my views offset as to cut throught the window, tried drawing a line from window to applicable floor in an elevation within the family editor....!! I'm stuck. I would appreciate some advise.

Can be different things.

Please post an example project and a sketch of how you want it to look

Thank you for the reply. I have attached a quick sample project representing what I'm doing. I hope this is good enough. The window is the same one used in my project as well.
