I didn't get a guide to any upgrades or new features with 8. It was just a getting started guide. How do I find out what is new?

There are a number of pdf files at the autodesk website under products, revit at the download area regarding new features.

Just go to the Revit Help menu and pick Documents on the Web to see what Scott is talking about.
