I have been trying to get most of my questions answered by searching previous post and have been pretty lucky, but I can't find this one:

Is it possible to draw a project in imperial units then switch over to metric?

I have customers that like imperial (which I think in) and others that insist having the CD's in Metric.

Yes.

Select Setting > Units > Feet and Inches or what have you.

Draw away happily.

Reset Units to Metric.

Sure can. Just make sure you aren't using any dimension types that override the project unit settings. Then go to Settings-Project Units, change all to the Metric setting of your choice.

:D Thanks for the help. I haven't looked at the dimension styles yet, but I wanted to make sure I could start the project in imperial units and then switch over to metric at the end.

Thanks also for the time about not setting any dimensions to override project settings.

Griff,
One other neat trick Revit does for you on the fly. Once you convert your units not only do dimensions change but area tags, area schedules etc. will also change. I just completed a project where the city required areas to be submitted in metric and the client wanted the dimensions in imperial. I changed only the unit settings for area and the area schedule was updated to metric while the dimensions remained imperial so the client could relate.
You can also switch over and back at any time through the process.

This software is impressive!!!!!!!! I can't imagine what I'm going to be able to do with our projects.

I've been reading all the hoopla about how exciting 6.0 is and I can't get over the high I'm on just seeing all the capabilities of 5.1 !!!!! :D :D

I previously reported, that there was a problem in switching from cm to meter and cm.
In Revit 6 it looks like that the conversion of the different units is now working properly.

Great! Thanks.

I did not find any paper, in which Autodesk indicates, which bugs actually were eliminated in Revit 6. Guess it could be helpful if such information would be accessible somewhere.
