Splitting segment sections

Has anyone else noticed that split segment sections don't work with linked models? It seems to ignore the split line though any model which is linked and just cut through at the original section plane. This one really got me recently on a site I really needed to use it on!

Yes - confirmed. It looks like a bug.

Any word if it will be fixed in 8? (I haven't got my hands on it yet) or perhaps from the very nice people at the factory as to why linked models seems to have peculiarities about them?

My test confirming the bug was done in 8.0.
