Hi all,
i need to import a scaled jpg image inside a project maintaining the original scale's dimensions: i have to use it like design base.
How can i get it?

I Think Aaron posted something on this a while back

My cruder method is to
Make new plan below bottom of model
Set your view scale eg 1:1000
draw two lines (coloured )& set them 100m apart zoom out & import the image ~
then adjust image size to suit so that the image grid lines align with coloured lines

A bit of a fiddle & not totally accurate but you can get very close

You can then either use the imported image direct ~ or trace off the image (the latter allows easier scaling later on if you need to adjust to say 1:500 / 1:200 scale)

NB Always best to rotate the site image to suit project plan orientation first & before you import

Later deselect any lines you don't want

Jim Balding posted this a long time ago, I have been keeping it for it is well written and concise...

Jim's method was for use prior to the advent of the Resize tool.

Using the resize tool and knowing the real world dimension of an element in your imported image, you can accurately scale the image correctly and easily.
