I posted this on Autodesk discussion and getting no where.
My properties menu is just GONE. I've seen this once before when I first installed 2006. I had to reinstall it for another reason and it's been working great for about 3-4 days. Came in this morning and my properties menu is all gray, no matter what I picked, nothing (this is what I saw when I first installed it). So I detached it from the side and was going to reattached it. That's when it disappeared. I think it's somewhere in the drawing, not as a detached menu.
Couple of good ideas, change screen res to find it or right click on the taskbar by the time and select cascade windows. Neither worked.
Someone please help me find my friend, I'm sure it's lonely out there in cyber space.

I'm adding a pic. Got the menu back after rebooting, but now I can't do anything with it. As you can see, I've selected the polyline, but nothing in properites menu.

No, I'm guessing it's something with Norton. It did it's thing over the weekend.
I've got it up and running now. No choice, had to reinstall. But looks like I might have been able to do the fix reg from the install CD. Well, see if I have to do the same thing next Monday.

I 've had the same problem and i run autocad's registry repair from add remove programs and it fixed...If you haven't find a solution until now,i suggest you try it!
Good luck!!

It is the registry cleaner that is the culprit. Whether you use Norton's or one of the stand-alone registy cleaners, the result is the same...the Properties Box disappears (it actually becomes a single line high behind(!) your drawing screen. Running AutoCAD's registry repair will fix it but it becomes tiresome after a while.
Wait until you move on to ADT 2007, it seems like the registry fixer renames an "A.exe" to "Acad.exe" in the registry(?). Anyhow, when you try to startup you get a warning that "The A program has bee renamed to Acad.exe. This could cause problems do you want to continue" (or something like that). If you answer "No" you get unceremoniously dumped out of the program. If you answer "Yes' the program continues but some strange things happen....like your tool pallettes are there but you can't access them. Neither using the Registry repair nor the program repair seems to help. So far, I've had to reload each time loosing my custom toolbars and pallettes in the process! I've dumped all the registry repair programs I have and am disabling Norton's until I hear of some fix for this.
Misery loves company!
