Hello All.

I am doing a renovation/addition to an existing 1.5 storey house where the roof of the second floor comes down and rests on the main floor wall.

I currently created the roof by extrusion. But the problem is the gable over the front entrance. I cannot get the eaves to line up so that the fascias of the two roofs blend smoothly. I already tried to do a cut plan profile into the extruded roof for the front gable, and it wouldn't let the fascias blend. If I offset the gable to make them match then the gable would unjoin from the extruded roof. Is there a way I could create this roof by extrusion so that I could split the sketched roof to automatically creat the gable?

thanks in advance,

Les

Try cutting a section , then just move the fascia, not the rest of the roof, into the correct alignment. You may need to set up reference planes as a guide.

Holy S--T Beegee!
Could you be any faster! I was trying to get an image uploaded and you already replied to my message. "Most Impressive!" I'll give that a try.
thanks.

Tried that. Then tried it again another way, but then the gable has to unjoin. So therefore does not work.

????????

OK, waiting patiently for the image to be uploaded. :)

Beegee,

For whatever reason, I cannot get the image to upload?
I've been messing around with it and I think I've got it figured out.

thanks again!

What I did was make the fascia of the gable stick out past the fascia of the main roof by 1/2" and it worked!!!

Drag this journal file onto your 5.1 revit icon and see how I'd do it, if I understand your problem right.
