Using Revit for Master Planning

Here are some examples from our office of a Master Planning project. These images are 100% Revit, including the arrows! I think they are good examples of ways to use Revit that you might not have thought about.

Very nice. So will it remain as one projects, or be split off into linked files at a later date? The colour on the site surfaces are just different site materials? The arrows, just massing objects? Just curious, as I do like the concept

This project was done by a co-worker in the office. I passed by his desk the other day, and saw these images printed out on his desk. I aksed "How did you do that?" His answer: In Revit! He obviously used the massing tools for the 'building' shapes and uses the floor area faces to divide the masses up into floors. The colors on the ground are Topo Regions, with the materials adjusted for the color. The arrows are 6" high massing, while the Red "line" is simply a new model line style he created.

As this is a study at this point, it will remain in one file. Since we are the "Master Plan Architects", other Architects or a developer may be hired to do the individual buildings.

I was intrigued by the use of Revit as a diagramming tool, as I hadn't thought of using it that way! The arrows as a massing element is very cool, and gives us the added capability of taking these diagrams to the 3D level. The flow arrows can now show relationships at different levels, and the arrows can pass around each other.

Not trying to show off, just trying to share an experience. I thought the idea was good, and figured someone else may benefit from it as I did!
