View Full Version : Larger section head -- moves lines

I have printed a floor plan for the associates and architects to look at to see if they want anything graphically to change. One thing was the size of the section heads to go from 1/2" to 9/16" diameter. Why the 1/16" matters I do not know.

Anyway, I can create the section head larger but when i place it vertically on a plan the section line goes through the circle. I have adjusted the location of the head in the family but then the circle moves and the centerline and text stay.

What am I missing to change this?

TIA,

In the section head family, turn on the reference lines. Move the new circle head to align with the RP that controls the location of the section line.

Beegee,

thank you for the response, however I found the refer lines and have lined that up but I still get an offset.

I have attached what happens. Notice the section line inside the section head. I have tried to move the circle around and the circle moves just fine, but then the line and text stay which is not inline with the circle.

Any suggestions.

TIA,

The right hand RP controls the location of the section line and cannot ( should not ) be moved. You need to redraw the section head by moving it left to maintain the relationship.

Beegee,

Thank you that did it. I noticed that you locked the alignment to the ref. lines. That is what did it for mine.

Thanks again.
