window legend

Some of our windows will not go into a legend - anyone have an idea what could possibly be wrong?

Check the family category is defined as " window "

Family is categorized as a window.
The process of adding the window to the legend starts but then the cursor becomes a 'strike-out' symbol. If I try to place the window at this point, I get the following error message:
"The component you have selected is not visible in the selected view."

OK - I went back into the family to check everything out and subsequently updated the family to the latest version of Revit - reloaded into the project and it was able to go into the legend. This week is starting off much better.......... thank you.
