Would anyone be able to explain how to create this simplest example of steel framing. Please note the beam is sloping. I would like to create this without having to create a roof as a reference plane. Thanks in advance.

I would use a framing elevation to place the sloping beam.

Just create a named Reference Plane ( or a grid ) where you want the beam in plane and then use View _ New _ framing elevation to place the beam on that plane. Draw it with the slope required in that elevation.

If you have a lot of these I would make it as a structural framing family so I could copy the assemble easily. But the framing elevation is the proper way to do this.

Your image appears to show separate members.
If instead, you want a single frame, as in pre-ingeneered building, I can supply that to you or post it somewhere (revit city?).

Could really use a pre-engineered building frame. Can you post it here? Attach to reply?
