Exporting Family

How do you "export" a family that I have modified, eg. wall type, to use in another project. (or a group of families from a tutorial). I have tried to do it as explained in the one tutorial "exporting loaded families". It works fine in the sample but not anywhere else for me. I must be missing something.

Wall Types are "System families" and are defined in the project file itself

Look at "Transfer Project Standards" under the "File" menu to transfer wall types between projects. Both projects should be open to execute this command.

From the help file:

You can copy and paste project standards from one project to another. Project standards include family types, line weights, materials, view templates, and object styles.

So called "component family files" (windows, doors,...) can be exported via the "save family" command but only if the loaded family is a "native" rel. 6.0 family
