Hi all,
We just started using ABS2004 and I have a million questions but I'll start with the one that will help me out right now. I work for a large electrical contractor on commercial and residential hi-rise buildings. My main job task is to figure out the routing and elevation of our large conduit runs and coordinate with the mechanical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler contractors to avoid conflicts with the other trades and with the architectural and structural members.
The problem I'm having is getting ABS to not add 90's automatically when I change elevations. For example, I may be tooling along at an 11' elevation when I encounter a mechanical duct that I need to avoid. I set the elevation to a new elevation (say 12') and want to offset over the duct. The problem is ABS tries to make the elevation change using 90's.
I have been able to work around this problem by changing my drawing plane and manually typing an angle and a distance but I'd like to think there's an easier way to do this.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
