Schedules for multi-building projects?

We do quite a few multi-building projects at my office and we have consistently had one major problem with Revit: schedules; we have not figured out a good way to schedule across multiple building models that are in separate rvt files.

Have others encountered this and if so, what have you done?

Any help would be appreciated!

We schedule within each of the building files, using the master file for site and related work only.

If you have standard details that relate to all the buildings, put those in a separate detail file and create " mock " references to the details in the building files.
