View Full Version : Unable to view DWG files in Internet Explorer ?

I am no longer able to view .DWG files from sites like CBEN.NET for shared blocks download.

VoloView always worked great for this with it's ActiveX interface opening a drawing in a new window within Internet Explorer for viewing prior to download. My VoloView 2.01 stopped working on this & other sites. I have un-installed, re-installed, tried other programs like DWF Composer (trial) & Bently's Free Cad Viewer which was supposed to have Internet Explorer ActiveX interface, but I can't seem to get this neat function working again.

VoloView tries to work but I get an "unrecognized file format.....dwg" in the new window. Without VoloView it will just open a new session of Autocad.

Any suggestion/ideas for settings or programs to help me get this preview function in Internet Explorer back would be appreciated.

Hi Billy

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=120) Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

Thanks, Mike

Hi

Do you mean Autodesk's i-drop technology...

Autodesk Developer Center - i-drop (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=1862830&siteID=123112)

Have a good one, Mike

the software forum. I just tried seeing a drawing on that site and I can't get anything to show up. the shortcuts say javascript... I know I am due for a java update myself... (darned annoying popup tray icon) I will try to install that tomorrow morning and check again...

were you having problems with any other sites?

www.cben.net (http://www.cben.net)The site works for me (using Firefox 1.0.4), again as Melanie suggested above, is your Java up to date... do you have it turned on in your web browser... have you tried asking / contacting the web master of cben.net...
