Changing Area Settings

I'm new to this and am trying to set my areas to read centerline on shared spaces, and exterior on exterior non-shared spaces. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Firstly create two new Area Schemes, - one for centreline and one for exterior.

Now create an Area Plan for the Centreline scheme. Use the tool Area Boundary and Uncheck ' Apply Area Rules" You can now snap the boundary lines to the wall centrelines.

Repeat the process for the Exterior scheme, snapping to the wall exterior face.

If your Area Plan is intended to show the centreline on some spaces and the exterior line of others, its just a matter of creating the appropriate area boundary line.

If you are looking for Revit to automatically create the boundary lines for shared spaces and exterior walls - that can't be done. Revit will automatically create boundary lines on the internal wall faces if you accept that prompt when creating an area plan.
