View Full Version : sloping floors
We had an auditorium with a flat floor...the Owner has since agreed a sloping floor would be best. How can I attach the 300 auditorium seats I've already got in my model to the new sloped slab without having to reinsert them...They are all on concentric radii and re-inserting them would take some time.
thanks.

Try to cut and paste the chair into a new "generic floor based" family then save as the same name and reload into the project.

Could you not model up a chair in the new family = curtain panel.
create a sloped glazing (flat curtain wall) and replace the panels with the chair?

Group the concentric rings and then raise each ring to it's new elevation. Probably slightly quicker than re-inserting.

Not answering your question exactly ~ If its a straight slope up I don't think the seats will be attached to the floor ~ ie with concentric seating the side seats will be lower down the slope than the centre seats
Cinemas I worked on in the past had a Hyperbolic / Parabolic curved bowl to the floor but I wouldn't like to have to model it ~ I'd be very interested to see what you end up with
