Why won't open-web joists slope?

This is very frustrating.

I know I can make beams like wide-flange steel beams follow a roof slope by creating a reference plane that follows the roof slope, and then placing the beam on that reference plane.

However if I do the same with an open-web steel joist, it simply will not do it. If I try to rotate the joist in elevation or section it gives me some kind of error message.

Any ideas?

Are you loading the LH-bar joist in Revit Building 8. I've been able to use the beam system to slope bar joists.
