Experimenting with the Massing tool.

I created a 'Floor by Face', choose the floor type and entered an offset.

This offset either extended the edge of the floor beyond the external limits of the mass (a negative figure) or reduced the edge within the mass (and positive offset figure).

Q1. I expected the offset to 'offset' above or below the level, not reduce the shape.

Q2. Selecting the new floor gives me an option to 'Remake' on the Options bar. This looses the Offset previously mentioned. Why?

Thats the way its meant to work.

Once you have created the floor, you can use the Properties dialog to set a height offset from level.

Q2. Selecting the new floor gives me an option to 'Remake' on the Options bar. This looses the Offset previously mentioned. Why?
Building elements created by face do not automatically update when the massing face changes. Using remake forces the element to adjust to the current size and shape of the massing face.

Do you mean that it's meant to work as in the Offset reduces / increases the footprint area of the floor, (therefore all is OK) or it's meant to work by moving the floor up/down and something I'm doing is wrong?

Yes - as Support might say " It performs as expected. "

The term " offset" can be confusing in this context as we are more used to it in a height offset situation.
