When using massing what would be the best approach to draw a cantilevered precast concrete floor used for a open balcony with railing. Would this be done during massing or done after. Note that the catilivered part is part of the main level floor also. They are approx 4 ft. wide x varying lengths.

Massing as I understand it was introduced in a very early version of Revit and is not as necessary now, as the standard modelling tools will allow you to do so many things very quickly. I do not use massing for anything. I doubt many others here use it too much. I would be more inclined to model it with the actual floor tool; whether as part of the main floor or separate would essentially depend on how it is actually going to be built (i.e. as part of the main floor, or separate!)

just a thought - couldn't the cantilevered partion be extruded or sweeped along a path. If the material was set equal the floor material, it then could be "joined" later
