Two questions:
1. Is there a way to organize a drawing list based on the actual sheet organization? Basically, I would like the generated drawing list to show the GXXX sheets before the LSXXX sheets, before the AXXX sheets and so on, rather than the sheets organized alphabetically.
2. Is there a way to group the sheets in the project browser. I want to group all of the AXXX sheets under an Architectural group, and so on.
Thanks (in advance) for the help!

Add two fields.
A text field for discipline.
A number field for discipline order.
Set sheets Civil/1, Stuctural/2, etc....
Sort by discipline order then by discipline
Apply the discipline header.
That does the trick and makes a nice looking index.

Thanks Aaron!
That sure beats the way I have been doing it!
Bye the way, I am assuming that you would then make these 2 new field "hidden" columns?
Thanks

I sure do. In addition I create 2 of these schedules - one called drawing list, one called drawing index. The drawing index goes on the cover sheet with the hidden columns. The drawing list is used to manage sheets and never printed. This way I don't need to remember to unhide and hide the columns as new sheets are added.

Is this still the preferred method to organize sheets in the project browser as well as index to drawings?
I have attempted to do this and have got it to work except what I end up with in the project browser is an unwanted folder tree before my sheets.
Example:
1 > TITLE SHEET > T-1...
2 > CIVIL > C-1...
3 > LANDSCAPE > L-1...
4 > ARCHITECTURAL > A-1...
This works but is not as clean as I would like it to be. Is it possible to eliminate the numbering scheme or substitute the numbers with the discipline? If not I can still live with this.
Also in the Drawing Listing I have the discipline headers checked to be displayed, they are the same text style as the schedule text, is there a way to change the appearance of the header text so that it stands out over the standard schedule text? I'd like to maybe increase the font size and/or make it bold.
Thanks for those who posted this solutions other than the minor gripes I have everything else seems to function well.

Hi Rob,
I have a parameter called sort order which I use to set the order the sheets as I wish. As this is a back office task, I have the "hidden field" check box in the formatting tab of the drawing list properties checked so it is not displayed on the sheet.
On the appearance tab there two text fields down the bottom with which you can control the font of both the body text and the header text.
Cheers,
Ian
