3D Section Box

It would be nice to be able to snap your 3D section box to multiple exact locations.

or can it do this and I just missed it?

You can do this by aligning the view to an existing section cut, etc.
From the Menu go:
View \ orient \ other view, and select your section.

Then just rotate that view and you have what you're looking for.

Yes, but how do you orient that 3D view to all of the planes, not just the one section? I found that the crop region box in section doesn't snap either. As an example, I want my 3D view to cut exactly through a column in plan but also through the floor above and below.

I voted in favor, but, in addition, I think we need to be able to treat this section box like an object that can be copied from view to view and to make it something that can be saved and used like the new "View Template"....Modify the section box template and then apply it and the section box gets updated....

and then we need to be able to pick one of the cut surfaces as a ref plane!
