Dot Net API - What is it?

I've been using AutoCAD for about 13 years now and have not heard of "Dot Net API". What is it?

API stands for Application Programming Interface. This particular api allows you to program with any of the Microsoft .Net languages. It is a wrapper for the underlying C++/ObjectArx code.
