Select wall by face

I created some blended masses and tried to use the select wall by face tool and it won't work for some reason. The floor, roof and curtain walls work fine on these masses; but not the wall by face.

What am I doing wrong? Am I the only one having this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

If the faces of your mass are any type of battered wall, or contain double-compound curves, you cannot currently pick Wall by Face. Curtain Walls work, because they conform to the shape. A roof will work on a battered wall, because roofs can have slope.
