View Full Version : Project Parameters...how they should be...

I would like for Project Parameters to be the same in a Revit model as they are in a Revit Family. For instance, I would like to be able to dimension something in the model, change the dimension to a parameter and then be able to apply it in the model at will.

And expose those values via ODBC.

And allow me to use these parameters in a schedule formula.

And while you're at it text as well. Then I can trigger an event based on some text note I type in a view.

I was thinking about this in the wee hours of last night and did a search to find this already posted as a wish list item.

Universal dimension parameters... "exit corridor width", "executive office width", "floor to floor height" (ok, that one's easy with the 'eq' constraint in most cases). The potential for a truly parametric prototype building are interesting.

Great idea Greg and very powerful/useful IMHO

you can sorta do this right now, but only within in-place families. Seeing something like this would be *really* cool, and also answer a lot of demand toward an 'API'. ;)

This would be very helpful for ADA clearances. 12" push, 18" pull side clear for doors, corridor widths....
