"This is a one time upgrade" Keeps happening

I keep getting this message every time I open the project I have already upgraded to 8 and of course it takes time to open the drawing. I don't understand why. Anyone with similar problem. It happens on both my office computer and my laptop.

Do you still have 7 installed on your computer? Have you tried to see if that file will still open in 7? Seems odd though, assuming you have saved it in 8.

Any linked projects in that file? Revit won't upgrade the links within a file, only the project file itself.

Is this when you open Revit? If so, your template file may still be R7. Oh, and by the way... just in case you haven't seen it in a while... ;-)

Yes! Open your template file in 8.0, upgrade by saving. Now you wont see the message when you start.

Your template is still 7.0, and everytime you start Revit, it opens that template and attempts to upgrade it.

Nevine said it happened every time the project was opened... I wonder if that was after opening Revit and then opening the project file, or just clicking on the project file from Windows? Does Revit read anything from the template if you open a project file straight from Windows Explorer?

I don't believe so.

This was happening to me with different *build* versions of R8 (I think it was between 20050423 and 20050428). Getting my workstation and laptop sync'd with the same version (now 20050523) fixed the problem.

It was the linked drawings. I opened them and saved them in 8. Then reopened the project. No message this time. It was driving me nuts and I didn't think of the linked files.
