Difference in 6.0 and 5.1 licenses?

My 5.1 installation says it will expire in 15 days and my 6.0 installation says the license usage is permanent.

- Is Revit 6.0 now like Autocad where you buy the program and only pay for a subscription if you want it?

- Also, when the 5.1 license expires does the program stop working?

I suspect that the 15 days on the 5.1 refers to the monthly license renewal. Mine says that it will expire in 26 days and be automatically renewed.
