Auto select?!?

Auto select?!?

It appears that in Map 2006 the auto select is on by default. In my drawings with hatches or topo maps they select every I drag my pointer across them. They slow down my computer. Is there a simple way to turn it off, a variable or something?

HI Wendell

I believe that a variable 'selectionpreview' will control this autoselect function.
Type in selectionpreview at the command prompt and set the variable to 0.

This should turn off the autoselect.

also called selection preview or rollover highlighting
for the slightly longer way, go into your 'options' dialog and 'selection' tab and 'visual effect settings', 'advanced options' to exclude certain things from this feature, which will make it more manageable on busier plans.
