I have no idea, but still my textures aren't working with Revit. I look in the material assignments, and sure enough, everything looks right, hit the render button and nothing but default. I'm going to reformat when I get a chance and clean the pipes out.

In the meantime, here's the latest local project, just finished the prelims on it. Revit 6 & SU

Wow! Very nice! Nice model. Nice SU images and nice design (from what I can see). My compliments to the designer (and modeler of course).

:) Thanks, it's not easy with a 50' long garage for his RV. :screwy:

Kroke,

I remember a thread from a while ago where you posted SU images as well. Are you still following the same procedure, i.e. model in Revit, export to SU and export views? It looks like you added some textures in SU as well. Having the dark out lines with a light skeleton in the back really makes it look sketched.

Yes, same procedure Jon. The black and whites in the lower right are just screen captures of the revit pdf added on. It'll probably be at least a month before I get a chance to re-format. I hope the rendering part will start working normally after this. It all went wacky once I installed from 4.5 to 5.1 :?: I don't know why /shrug.

Right mlgatzke, it's hard to put a 50' long RV garage in a place and make it look decent, it's the ugliest part of the place but it's not too bad.

I'm able to export my model into sketchup; however, can someone tell me how to export my 3d views into sketchup?

You just export it from revit in a 3d view. Insert it into SU. Once in SU, you rotate it around to whatever view you want.

Thanks for your response. I was hoping there was a way to export your 3D views that were already set up in Revit into Sketchup. This way I wouldn't have to try and set up the same camera views in Sketchup that I already have in Revit.

Once again, thank you.

Revit Cameras might not wind up in Sketchup, but they do in AutoCAD DWGs. :)

Hmm, ok I see what you meant now. I havn't tried to export from a camera view...does it work or ?

I really haven't had the time to spend to check this out, but everytime I try to export a camera view, it doesn't show up in Sketchup. Maybe someone else knows if it's possible or not.....

I don't know, I thought it was the case then when you export a DWG from Revit, and open it in AutoCAD or Viz, the Cameras you had in Revit become views/cameras in those programs as well. I'll have to double-check, I was just reading about this yesterday. But what I ment was that som eof that Camera info is winding up in the export DWG, whether SK! can do anything with that or not I don't know...
