Selecting multiple objects

When selecting multiple objects, say in a sketch, I hold down the Ctrl key, but if I want to de-select an object I accidently picked, it won't let me. Is this a bug or is there another way to deselect one object without having to re-pick everything?

New in 6.0, hold down the shift key to de-select.

and notice that in 6.0, holding the CTRL key puts a + at your cursor, and holding SHIFT adds a - to your cursor as a reminder. Nice!
