Just started a new project, drew in my levels in elevation and such.

I went to the elevation (south) and I see the building but no level lines.

What's up with that? Any help will be appreicated.

I tried those and others. Nothing seems to get them back. I tried extending the crop region way out and nothing. I tried the Section Box, nothing.

I really hate what they did to the level lines in v7 on. We spend a lot of time trying to get these things back when someone sets one off or just starts a project and can't find them.

I hope they fix these things and they hang the person who came up with this lame idea.

Your frustration is understandable (I'm currently pulling my hair out on some unrelated issue, so I know exactly how you feel right now), but that "person" didn't purposely set out to waste your afternoon.

When you say "Section Box", you're referring to the "Scope Box"?

To be clear, are they missing from just the south elevation or are they missing from every view?

Steve

I had the same problem over the weekend.

I found the solution was to click on the level line in a view where you can see it, then select "3d extents"

This seems to "push" the level line out into all the other views where it was not previously visible.

Worked for me!

Best wishes

A good way to fix level lines that have disappeared...along with resetting the alignment of all levels, is to create an overall building "scope box" that encompasses your entire project. Set the "views visible" properties of the scope box to include your elevation views as "visible". Go to any elevation, right click a level marker and "select all", open the properties and in scope box select the box you just created. This will reset the 3d extents of all levels.
Once complete you may use the scope box to control the view alignment of all you levels...or you can delete the box and your levels will stay reset but will no longer be tied together.

You may also create smaller detailed scope boxes to hide levels that you may not want showing up in your building elevations.

Thank you all for your help on this matter. I gave up an started my project all over again. Can't waste to much time.

I did keep the old project to play and will try some of the other ideas you have presented here.

Again, many thanks for your support.

Yeah... it's a good 'un and is a problem ALL users encounter. The 3D grid and level extents is something that is useful, but I have to hammer newbies with its importance so that they understand it and set them up right.

People sometimes draw their levels right to left instead of left to right, or vice versa. So both the direction levels were drawn and their 3D extents both matter, and they need to be drawn consistently.
