Revit Development has recently discovered a problem with Build: 20050523_2300 of Revit Building 8. This problem could lead to crashes when saving to central. For this reason, Build: 20050523_2300 has been pulled from the Revit Download page and replaced with the previous one, Build: 20050428_2300. A new build will be posted as soon as it is ready.

In the meantime, if you are experiencing problems with Save to Central please install Build: 20050428_2300 at your earliest convenience. There is no loss of functionality if you go back to this earlier build.

We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. If you have any questions about this notice, please let us know. You can open a Support Request (http://www.autodesk.com/supportrequest) on the Subscription Center.

Thanks Chris, but just wondering - if there is no loss of functionality between these builds, what did the later build do ? My understanding was that it restored Revit's ability to retain view overrides applied in views with imported dwg's, when those dwgs are reloaded. Does that work in the earlier build also ?

If you are using Build: 20050523_2300 and you are crashing during Save to Central, you should consider going back to the 20050428_2300 build. If you are not using Worksets and/or you are not crashing during STC there is no reason to consider going back. We don't suggest that you do this preemptively.

Beegee, Development has told me that the primary reason for the 523 build was for localization (language support, Japanese I think). I presume that there were some minor defects fixed as well, but Development believes that these are of less concern than crashing during STC. Additionally, they are planning an a new build shortly to address all of these concerns.

mmodernc, you will need to uninstall prior to reinstalling. I am not sure I follow the rest of your statement. Can you clarify?

How will the general populace who owns Revit find out about this if they're not on AUGI? I didn't notice any news on the subscription site.

I should've known someone would go all 'technical' on me!

To rephrase;
Will Autodesk be sending out email or posting this bulletin on the subscription site? Or should I start calling all of our clients?

Isn't this a cool icon!:veryevil: but what's this one mean? :Puffy:

There's a wolf in there somewhere.

Note: A new build has been posted (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=21579), which presumably addresses this problem.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. It could stop some of the phone calls. It could also help keep customers who are managing CAD/BIM to keep update.

Lets see......
200+ user who are having the same problem.(across the country)
+
100 users could had that same problem in about 2 weeks to 2 months.(across the country)
+
10 users have Revit sitting on their machine and are about to use it for the first time(and it crashes)<----They are not pleased.(across the country)
=
Alot of phone call to support within the next 6months

Hello . . We've installed the build that is a couple behind the one mentioned, would we have the same problem? We haven't started working with worksets yet, and just trying it we dont' seem to have problems so far!
I](We're new to Revit in case it isn't obvious :)[/I]

Elisa,
Install the latest build that is available on the Autodesk website. The build number for it is: 20050620_2300. I think if you use that one you will end up being much happier.
Hope that helps,
