Family File Size

I created alot of window/door families in 4.5 and wanted to upgrade them to 6.0 but the file size doubles. Is this normal with a new release?

The file size gets even larger if I recreate it in 6.0.

Well, there is always going to be more information in a newer file than an older one, but I think double the size is a bit extreme. You may have noticed that even your project files backups (i.e. the .0001.rfa files) are usually about 2x as big as your main file. If you save as instead of just saving, it usually fixes the problem with this arbitrary doubling. I would try saving your families using a save as after you upgrade them.

If I use Save As first the filesize will be smaller. If I use Save and then Save As the file size doubles.
