In the dimension properties dialog box, there is a pull-down box to choose the tick mark. I see the diagonal 3/32" mark, which is what we normally use at my office, but is there a way to add another diagonal tick mark, say 1/16" or something? In certain views the 3/32" tick mark just seems too big.

go to Settings --> Annotations... --> Arrowheads...

Create your own family from this dialogue.

Thank you very much. :)

Now another thing, is it possible to control things like bold or italics, etc. for dimension text? I don't see any such parameters in the dimension type properties.

Pick a text font, edit/new and make it look like what you want. Then go to annotations/dimensions and set that font for dimensions.

When you go to the Dimension type properties, there is only a Font Type drop-down box, with all of the fonts listed that Windows has loaded. There isn't a control for bold, italics, or underline, that I can find.

You have to create a new font/text style, then go into the dimension properties, create a new dimension style and assign that new font to the new dimension style.

Do you mean you have to create a new windows font? Windows fonts are the only ones that I can access from the dimension drop down. I must be missing something if there is a way to use the fonts defined in Revit.

I can create a revit text style but in the dimension style drop down there are only listed installed windows fonts.Where do you select the text style that you defined in Revit? The only fonts selectable in the dimension style parameters list are installed windows fonts.

sorry...i answered you without thinking about it..

you're correct, the text you select for dimensions can only be selected from the installed windows fonts and not from a Revit text style.

I suppose this might be a good item for the wishlist...

Definitely a good one for the wish list, because then you would also be able to adjust the width of the text for those hard to reach places! :-)
