How do I control the lineweight of a ceiling and cornice in a section view?
I've looked everywhere I can think of, but can't see where the lineweight is set from.
Its currently just showing as a black blob.

Incidently why does a ceiling's thickness go up from the level rather than down.
To explain it another way the ceiling sits above the level rather than hang down below the level.
Is this the way it works or have I done something wrong.

For the ceiling, use Settings Object Styles - Ceilings Cut and Projection.

For the cornice use the linework tool or possibly the Advanced Model Graphics Silhouette Tool ( but the former will be easier I think )

Ceilings , traditionally , would start at the ceiling level and project above that level, not below. That allows for the clear ceiling height to be achieved. Otherwise you would have to allow for the ceiling framing thickness to be deducted from the ceiling level to know your clear ceiling height.

Ahh, just realised the plasterboard material was set for solid fill when cut.

I guess I'm thinking of plate level where you would build the walls put the ceiling joists on top and hang the ceiling below that, I take your point about the ceiling level.

Thanks for your help on a Saturday arvo.
