I am really starting to enjoy using Revit, but what do you do if the librarys don't have what you want, like a wood door with a wood transum, or a column with a square capital :?:

I will take this opportunity to (somewhat forcefully ;) ) suggest that you look at the tutorials. In particular, you should really check out the family editor tutorials. Family creation is fundamental to Revit's extensibility. Becoming familiar with the family editor will make these types of things a snap.

No problem. We all started somewhere...i.e. the tutorials. They really are the single best source of Revit training you will get without paying a lot of money. Go through the window family tutorial that comes with Revit and you will have a good idea of the power of the family editor. Also, check out the truss tutorial on rugi.org
