Some others were discussing using REVCLOUD when you cannot see the entire portion of the drawing you want to surround with the cloud. Here's the discussion (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=21391).
The simple soulution is to use the Object option in the REVCLOUD command. Draw a pline around the changes, then turn that pline into a cloud.

I wanted to add that it doesnt have to be a Pline....
It will work with a circle, rectangle, ellipse, polyline, spline, even a regular old line....

I use this option all the time, and you come out with a nice, clean, even revcloud when you're done. Much easier than just drawing it freehand.

I am using 2002 and I don't see an Object option in the REVCLOUD command. Is it the version I'm using. Please email me gab@sweng.com. thanks

Nope! not an option in AutoCAD 2002.
Try searching (http://forums.augi.com/search.php?) the forums, you should be able to find "RevCloud" routines that offer near enough the same functionality.
Have a good one, Mike

I use AutoCAD 2004 and the revcloud command works with a circle, rectangle, ellipse, polyline, spline but doesn't with regular line or pline. Is it my version or is it me?

We use REVCLOUD's alot at my job, i noticed with AutoCAD 2005 you CAN pan when in the revcloud command! you couldn't with previous versions but i can now! or you can just use from objects and not have to worry about if you can or not. LOL
Good Tip!
