topography created at wrong elevation

im having trouble getting a created topography to come in at the elevations of the spot elevations they were generated from, in this case the original elevations are in the 400-500 range and the created topography are being created at the 800-900 range. anyone know what causes this? does the imported site plan have to be at zero?

When you import the survey data, it's imported to the active view level, so if that level was at RL 400 and the survey levels ranged from +400 to + 500 you would get your current situation.

The easy fix is to select the topo in an elevation view and move it down the required distance.

For future reference, you could create a new level at sea level ( Shared datum RL 000, if your Shared Floor Level is at say RL 400 ) and import your topo in that view. It will be at the correct level relative to your floor levels then.
