Strange icons in sketch mode

This just started appearing last week (still 5.1). When I go into sketch mode I don't get the usual printed words to select from, but I get these icons on a black background. Is there a way to get it back to the printed words. Thanks

I've seen some strange things occur with the GUI using Revit and Windows XP. These issues seem to be resolved in 6.0. Try changing your Display Properties/Appearance/Windows and Buttons to "Windows Classic style" to see if it resolves the problem. Also check your color settings...you might want to reset the color scheme to "Windows Standard" as well.
