View Full Version : Text - just an outline?

I use CAD to send dxf's through to a Plasma cutter to cut out various items and also text.

I was wondering if there is a way to sort of explode any filled in text such as arial or verdana so that it will just be a single outline of the text shape.

If you dxf text it explodes into a centre line of the original text, i need an outline.
Can this be done???
It would help so much!

The express tool "Explode Text" or command "TXTEXP" will do just that. You may need to clean it up a little depending on the font.

Hi

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=120) Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

Thanks, Mike
