Electrical plan visibility problems

For a project i need to create, electrical power, life safety, and miscellaneos plans (each a seperate plan) but i cant figure out how to control the visibility of each of these so on each plan i only get the correct symbol.

Electrical power - outlets etc (but not the rest)

Life safety - Fire alarm, door closers, etc (but not the rest)

Miscellaneous plans - TV, DATA, etc (but not the rest)

Is there anyway to do this?

It appears to be a problem with the annotation itself...if you set the actual family to a subcategory of Electrical Devices, the annotation does not change visibility like other objects.

You need to add object styles in the family for all of the things you want to manage. Then place annotation and set visibility.

There appears no way to set the annotation to a particular object style.....how can you do this so when you turn off the particular sub category...the annotation also turns off?
