Octagon Roof question

Hi all,

I’m trying to create a roof on an octagon shaped building. The kicker is I want to have a gable on each side of the octagon. So it go like this; valley, ridge, valley on each side of the octagon, all around the building. Do you get my drift?

create your roof so that each edge of the octagon actually sticks out a very small fraction. your sketch in plan will look like a normal octagon, but if you zoom in tight on each one of the corners, you will have a small V notch with each leg of the V perpendicular to the adjacent side of the polygon....got that? now, turn each of the small V sketch lines into slope defining lines, and give them the slope you want. This will produce an octagonal roof with gable ends. If that makes no sense, let me know, and I'll post a sketch....
