Is it possible to automatically create window and partition type drawings?
I do know i could place an elevation at all windows and hide the walls. As well as i could draw all the wall types in a row (off to the side of the model) and place a section through it.

But this seems all pretty easy to make mistakes, and for get window types and wall types that exist in your model.

Thanks,

GSH

I think if I did this, I would probably create a separate family or project for it, so that when you load it into your project, it will not schedule as a bunch af additional windows that aren't actually in your project. Linked projects/families do not schedule the individual components within them. Also, probably easier to reuse.

Thanks

i was just hoping that REVIT would be able to produce a graphic schedule of all walls/windows/doors etc. included in the model, not just a text version like in normal schedules. Actually something similiar to the interface used when creating wall types.

I should know better, i have used this software since 2.0. But i wanted to tap into you all's knowledge.

Always tons of workarounds though.

I use true elevations of each window, this has many benefits. Then hide the elevation marks. For the wall types, make a copy of the plan and do callouts of each wall type, then you can pick on the crop boundary and make them all the same size. It sounds like a lot of work but it isn't really. secondly set up view templates with the settings you need for each type of view.

I'm going to make this a wishlist item.

We also have done some window / detail drawings using elevations and callouts, turning off all other elements. It has worked well for most cases, but we did have a case where we changed a window at the last minute and didn't realize that was the window we were using for on the window sheet since the elevation was invisible.

With ADT we were just doing a quick elevation of the window / door /etc only. The only thing you had to rember was to update the elevation before plotting. (Although to be fair the same thing could happen).

It would be nice to have Revit be able to do drawings in schedules. The possibilities are endless (Doors, windows, trim, Legends, parking).

Good wishlist item
