IF you are using any form of the AIA standard layer names (with or without modifications), please tell me which version you use?

also (i'm told this only applies to v2 and prior?) whether you use long or short-format.

i've also been informed that adt already has aia standard layers built in... you are accessing them this way, which version of adt/aia standards are you using?

this is not intended to be a debate about the merits of the aia, just a survey of what people are actually using right now.

I'd appreciate feedback from those actually using it (tried this (http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=412369)on the autodesk forums, but, didn't get very far)

I'm not using AIA but just wanted to chime in since I am using a documented standard.

I use a very slightly modified NCS (National Cad Standards) standards.

I thought the NCS was based on the AIA standard.

Anyway, I use a variant of the AIA standard.

Yes, I believe it its too...especially the layer naming conventions... that y I chimed in on the subject.

as far as what version?... I have no idea, I was taught NCS about 3 years ago and have been using it since.. Even at the firm I'm at now. I am the sole technician so I changed everything over to NCS. but just from memory...so I really can't say what version...sorry

I use the AIA standard out of the box with ADT. It uses version 2, long format.

Also from the ADT help menu:

Autodesk® Architectural Desktop provides industry-standard layering conventions including: AIA 2nd Edition, BS1192 Descriptive, BS1192 - AUG Version 2, and NCS Version 2. Additional international layer conventions are also provided including: DIN 276, ISYBAU Long Format, ISYBAU Short Format, and STLB.

from this and other groups i've posted the same question to, I am getting agreement that they're modifying to suit their purposes, but, i'd really like to know now whether they're using long or short format?

AWA <- short
A-WALL <- long
again, not sure how that changes per version... Thanks to everyone who has chimed in...
