I would like to make some of my drafting lines none printable, but view them on screen. Reference planes will not work due needing a curved line. Any suggestions will help.

Try either reference lines, or model lines set to <INVISIBLE LINES> type. I believe invisible lines are in the default templates.

Those only work inside a family - not within a project.
Within a project you can make a linestyle that can be turned off, or you can use a grid line.
If your using worksets you can place non-printing grids in a separate workset from the column grids and use them as ref. planes.
For instance in my current project I have a workset called Detail References which is not visible by default in all views (important to set it up that way.) I can turb these on when needed by turning on the workset.
